Well we've all made it to the airport safely, no one is missing and we have said our goodbyes to friends, family and supporters. Thanks to everyone who turned up to wish us 'all the best'. We were especially pleased to be wished well on our tour by Fiona Hardie (Lady President of the RCCC), Patricia Thomson (captain of the 2003 tour) and Anne Buchanan (a member of the 2003 tour).
Some last minute items have been distributed amongst the hold luggage and it is now safely on its way to Stockholm (we hope!) and we are waiting (some patiently and some impatiently) for our call to the departure gate.
It's really happening. After all the preparation we are now heading off with no time to worry or fret about clothes or gifts - what we have got with us will have to do. Now we can concentrate on the curling (which is after all the reason we all applied to go on the tour in the first place) and the socialising side of the tour, notching up wins in our games along the way and having a great time. Hopefully all the memories will be happy ones that we can remember for many years to come.
